How to Fail According to Seth Godin

April 12, 2011-In reading Seth Godin's blog I found it extremely interesting to note that he promotes failure. He says "All of us fail. Successful people fail often, and, worth noting, learn more from that failure than everyone else." To me that says something. In PR, we are often faced with failing companies, products, or CEOs. So how do we deal with it? How do we promote things that are failing? I was reminded of the Tylenol scare of 1982, instead of trying to hide the problem, Johnson & Johnson in essence promoted their failure and removed the product from shelves, stopped advertising and took "credit" for the tampering. It helped their credibility as a company and helped them in the long run.
