New Spin on an Old Favorite
Burger Planet adds some variety and a new spokesperson to the menu
GARY, Indiana—Jayne Petersen, CEO of Looking Glass, Inc., best-selling author of “Looking Good in a Leotard”, and well renowned fitness guru of the stars, including Opal Whitcomb, has joined the Burger Planet team.
“Jayne Petersen and Burger Planet share a commitment toward health. The women Jayne Petersen has helped lose weight eat at Burger Planet. Burger Planet and Jayne Petersen are launching a comprehensive program to assist those women in eating healthy,” said CEO James E. Mullenbach III.
“Burger Planet has been a leader in the Quick Service Restaurant industry in offering healthy menu choices. The company believes in encouraging customers to live healthier, active lifestyles and I have spent my life trying to teach women that lesson,” said Jayne Petersen.
With the addition of Jayne Petersen, Burger Planet has some complementary menu options. They now offer white meat chicken breasts, five different fruit packets as well as gourmet salads. Consumers can also modify their original Burger Planet favorites by substituting lettuce for a bun or by ordering fruit as an alternative to fries.
“Burger Planet cares about its customers. For more than seven decades, the company has succeeded because it put customers first. We listen to our customers. And our customers desire healthy choices, of which we offer many.” CEO Mullenbach III said.
Petersen’s first company appearance will be May 12 at a kick-off ceremony at the Burger Planet located in Times Square. From there she and Corny the Clown will appear in commercials showcasing the new menu options as well as making several appearances at shopping malls and Burger Planet franchises throughout the country. Petersen is working with Burger Planet chefs to develop an adult Smiley Meal complete with white meat chicken, fruit and ankle weights, tray liners with nutritional information are soon to come.
